Judgement Standards /

Plane configuration: Overall spatial pattern configuration, moving line planning and sorting.

Concept: the work can fully convey the design concept.

Innovation: innovation in design thinking, expression techniques, and application of material technology.

Functions: easy to use, maintain, store, clean, and secure.

Interaction: the real relationship between spatial works and users.

  • Albert Ho is a U.S.-trained architect with over 14 years of professional experience in Boston and New York before returning to Taiwan to co-found Ho+Hou Studio Architects with Jen Suh Hou in 1998. Growing up in Singapore, he was profoundly shaped by the clarity and restraint of local modernist architecture. After earning his degrees in architecture from the University of Houston and Harvard University, he worked at Raphael Moneo Architects in Cambridge, Schwartz/Silver Architects in Boston, and later became a partner at PKSB Architects in New York.His work on Root Residence earned the 1995 AIA New York State and New York City Design Excellence Awards, as well as the 1996 AIA National Honor Award. His contributions to Clinch Valley College of the University of Virginia received the 1995 Progressive Architecture P/A Award and the 1994 AIA New York City Design Award.With a multicultural background and a sharp analytical perspective, Albert Ho’s architectural approach blends material innovation with meticulous detail. In addition to practice, he is deeply committed to architectural education and has served as a design tutor in several major university architecture departments.

Nic Lee

    He has been engaged in design for more than 20 years, and graduated from the Pratt Institute of Art in New York with a master's degree in interior design and the architectural research major of University of Copenhagen in Denmark. He founded WATERFROM DESIGN in 2008 with the original intention that the design should be as "water" - pure, organic, and changeable, retaining its original simplicity in essence and presenting the frame-free possibility in mind. He focuses on the story context and time light of space, to create a space with emotional precipitation and information imagination.His work is mixed with minimalism and humor. From his study to practice, he always has the rational thinking of architectural design, and also the rebellious nature of artist, who likes to redefine the existing order in the exception of rules, and finds surprise in the unpredictable uncertainty.Recipient of numerous prestigious accolades, including the FRAME Awards Jury Prize, APIDA Gold Award for Asia Pacific Interior Design, DFA Silver Award for Design for Asia, Golden Pin Design Award’s Best Design of the Year, TID Gold Award for Taiwan Interior Design, the Real Estate Design Award Gold Prize, ELLE DECORATION China Interior Design Awards, and the iF Design Award from Germany. The studio was also named one of the “Top 40 Rising Design Studios Worldwide” by leading U.S. media outlet Interior Design magazine.

Chiaju Lin

  • Director of OMA Taiwan / Architect
  • As Director of OMA Taiwan, Chia-Ju Lin has contributed to numerous major projects across Asia, including office towers (CCTV Headquarters in Beijing), luxury residences (Singapore/Taipei), performing arts centers (Taipei), and multimedia centers (Shanghai). She led the Taipei Performing Arts Center project, which won the 2022 Taiwan Architecture Award of Excellence, was named The Guardian’s Best Arts Building of 2021, and recognized by CNN as one of the world’s most transformative architectural works.Lin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Tamkang University and a Master’s degree from Columbia University. She is a licensed architect in both the United States and Taiwan. Currently, she serves as Adjunct Associate Professor at the Departments of Architecture at Tamkang University and Chung Yuan Christian University. She was formerly the third-term president of the Women in Architecture Association and is currently a board supervisor. Lin is deeply engaged in urban design, theater architecture, architectural education, and gender equality. She is also active in international architectural discourse as a keynote speaker, critic, curator, and guest editor.

  • Dr. Chen began her architectural career in 2001 at the China Academy of Building Research. In 2002, she co-founded the Fifth Design Institute under the China Architecture Design & Research Group, where she contributed to major governmental projects including the Embassy of Saudi Arabia, the headquarters of People's Political Consultative Daily, and the planning of public service facilities within the 2008 Beijing Olympic Park.In 2004, she established Studio Axis, a practice specializing in cultural and artistic space design and consultancy. As a multidisciplinary architect, artist, and interior designer, Dr. Chen is known for her tailored work with cultural icons such as Jackie Chan, Karen Mok, Feng Xiaogang, and Yang Lan. Her creative collaborations extend to leading fashion and lifestyle brands, producing projects and products celebrated for their refined aesthetic and popular resonance. Her work has been widely exhibited and honored with multiple design awards, affirming her influence across the realms of architecture, art, and design.

    Established in 2003, Divooe Zein Architects is located on the back hill of the Shuangxi Yangmingshan National Park just outside of Taipei, Taiwan. The designs of the team take on a holistic approach that considers the building, environment, perception, and other factors. The team has worked on therenovation of historical buildings, innovative design of research institute, experimental housing, hotels, and more. Since 2014, it has been exploring the use of lightweight materials, as well as the applications and potential of composite materials.Divooe Zein, the director of Divooe Zein Architects. Zein was raised up in Palau islands and studied in the international school SDA. After his practice of architecture, he established Divooe Zein Architects in Taipei and started the journey and field studies back and forth in between Bali islands in Indonesia and Taiwan from 2003 until now. Ho Tai-wen

    Ho Tai-wen, the Principal architect of Ho Tai-wen Architects and the head of Wilderness Design Consultants Co., Ltd.; Design Ph.D., College of Design, Chung Yuan Christian University. Her primary interests focus on the research of spatial narrative design, the long-term observation and discussion of the influence of design on culture and society, and the exploration of various possibilities of architecture as action.She currently serves as an adjunct assistant professor at the Graduate Institute of Architecture at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Taiwan University of Arts, and the Department of Architecture at Chung Yuan Christian University.She had previously instructed graduate design courses at the Architecture Departments of Chung Yuan Christian University and National Taipei University of Technology, and held a position as an adjunct expert assistant professor at the Architecture Department of National Cheng Kung University.She was a co-founder and served as the first and second term director of the Women in Architecture Taiwan(WAT), and is currently the fourth term chairperson. She has long been dedicated to promoting public affairs and participating in review work, and has committed herself to education through critical writing, lectures, forums, and international academic seminars.
